ABOUT US

About me – Stefanie Ammann
Dogs have been part of my life for many years – and since 2013, my professional life too.
It all started with a small dog daycare business, which gave me valuable insights into the nature and behavior of dogs. At the same time, I built my own dog training school – the Ammann Dog Center, which I have been running with passion for over ten years.
Since 2021, I have been training dog trainers, puppy trainers, and animal shelter staff throughout Switzerland and accompanying people on their path into the animal-related profession – in a well-founded, practical way, and with a clear focus on the well-being of the dog.
Animal welfare – my heart's desire
Not a single vacation went by without me spending time at animal shelters or rescue centers—whether in Greece, Colombia, or elsewhere. Everywhere I was able to lend a hand and make a small contribution to helping dogs in need.
The desire to create a safe place for dogs in need grew over the years – until I made the decision in the winter of 2023: I bought a large piece of land in Sweden to bring my passion project to life.
100% of the proceeds from the training courses go towards the care and support of the rescued dogs here in Sweden.

My dogs:

Emmi, born in 2011, has been with me since I started working for myself. When I worked in animal Shelter in Greece for three months in 2012, I rescued her from the street and adopted her. She showed me my way and is part of the team.
Through her I learned what honesty, loyalty and faithfulness mean and I have been able to pass this on to many people.
At the turn of the year 2021, a Maremmano dog came to me in Zermatt, which had already run away from Piedmont in July 2020. How exactly she found her way to Zermatt is not known, but she found her way to me and straight into my heart. Since then,
Furi, born 2019, has also been part of the team.
In October 2022, I adopted an Old German Shepherd who narrowly escaped euthanasia.
Two broken Hips led to aggressive behavior towards people and dogs. Gandalf, born 2020, has greatly expanded my knowledge of behavioral problems in dogs. After a year of very intensive work with him and after two new Hips, I was able to pass him on to a fellow trainer in Bern.
Addis, * March 9, 2015, † March 22, 24, was not only the tallest in the Group, also the one with the biggest Heart. She has come a long way. From Ethiopia she came to Zurich in Switzerland via Myanmar, Stockholm and Paris. She has therefore seen more continents than many people ever have. She left us far too early. She crossed the rainbow bridge at just nine years old. We miss her very much.
Towards the end of 2023 I took in an "emergency furry friend". Socke, born 2021, a mixed breed dog from Romania, is now also enriching the team. My first little dog weighing just 6kg. She shows me every day that size doesn't matter and can communicate confidently with all dogs.
Another little whirlwind joined the team since the beginning of March 2024. Henja, born in 2022, also comes from Romania, is very bright, learns very quickly and is up for any fun. She brings a lot of energy and still has a lot to learn.
Iwar came to us completely unexpectedly. He was born in Mallorca in 2022, where he was only kept on the balcony. When he was about a year old, he was rescued there by animal rights activists and placed in Switzerland. His new owner in Switzerland mistreated and neglected him. He was confiscated by the police and has now found his new home with us. He is a rough diamond with a lot of work to do, but we will help him to grow into a well-balanced dog.
Jara & Kari, also born in Romania in 2022, are now part of our family. When I started setting up the Dog Rescue in Sweden, I saw the siblings. The former owners were overwhelmed because the dogs were very insecure, not house-trained and could not left alone. For that they wanted to give them to an animal shelter. Nobody wanted to adopt them either, because Kari suffers from an umbilical hernia that will have to be operated soon. Now they with me and enjoying a new start in life.
Lori came to me completely unexpectedly. I brought four dogs into care – and returned home with five. The little Chihuahua, weighing just 5 kg, was looking for a forever home. Since she fit in so harmoniously with my group, I decided to adopt her. Born in August 2023, she fits perfectly into our pack.
The construction hasn't even started yet, and four more dogs have already moved in with me.
Nea (born 2019), Odda (born 2022), Py (born 2022), and Quin (born 2023) have been part of our pack since March 2025. They came from a confiscation and bear the traces of their past: numerous scars mark their bodies, and they were severely malnourished upon their arrival. Their daily routine has changed dramatically. Daily sled training is now part of their regular routine – 18 to 25 kilometers is enough to keep them busy for the rest of the day. They'll still be living in the house until the kennel is completed. Adjusting to the new environment wasn't easy, as they've never lived in a house before, but they're making progress every day.
Moro (born 2018) A little fighter with a big heart – blind in one eye and turned into a biter out of fear. Today, Moro can live safely with us and start his new life with confidence. Every day, he shows us how much courage a little dog can contain.
Rya (born 2022) Our energetic Alaskan Malamute loves exercise and mental challenges. With her zest for life and stamina, she brings a breath of fresh air to the team – and shows how important species-appropriate exercise is. She reminds us how beautiful pure joy in life can be.
Trix (born 2017) This brave stray came to us straight from the streets of Spain – and into our hearts. Because of his diabetes, no one wanted him. He is priceless to us. With his calm nature, he brings balance and warmth to our pack.
