Your Help Matters – Become a Volunteer!

Do you want to help dogs in need? At Dog Rescue Auktsjaur, you can actively support our mission and become part of a dedicated team. We welcome every helping hand – whether it’s assisting in the daily care of the dogs, helping with the construction of our new facility, or supporting us with grooming and maintenance.

Especially interesting for Swiss interns:
Your time with us is officially recognized as a practical internship (FBA Tierbetreuung) in Switzerland.

How You Can Help

There are many different tasks you can take on, depending on your interests and skills:

• Kennel Helper – cleaning kennels, feeding, grooming

• Dog Walker – exercising and socializing the dogs on our 3,000 m² property

• Construction Support – helping with the setup and maintenance of our new dog station

 

What You Should Bring

To ensure smooth teamwork, you should:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Be able to communicate in German and/or English

• Be reliable and have experience with dogs – or be open to learning
  You will receive a proper introduction on site, of course.

 

How to Join Our Team

1. Send us a short message via the contact form or email. Please include a brief description of your motivation.

2. We will get in touch for a short introductory call.

3. You’ll receive an on-site orientation.

4. Then your volunteer experience can begin!

 

Accommodation & Arrival

You’ll stay in a cozy guesthouse with a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, a separate bedroom, a small bathroom, and a sofa bed for additional guests.
If you prefer to bring your own camper, there’s plenty of space available on the property – we’ll just clarify the details in advance.
All meals and drinks (excluding alcohol) are included during your stay.

Travel is at your own expense – you book and pay for your journey yourself. We’ll arrange your arrival date together.

• Nearest airport: Arvidsjaur (ARJ).
  You’ll be picked up directly at the airport – the shelter is about a 25-minute drive away.

 

Alternatively, arrival by ferry and train is also possible.

 

Minimum Stay: 2 Weeks

Longer stays are very welcome, as the onboarding takes a few days and your support becomes more sustainable that way.

 

Recognized Internship for FBA Tierbetreuung (Switzerland)

Your time at Dog Rescue Auktsjaur is officially recognized in Switzerland as an internship for the FBA qualification in animal care.
If you want to combine your internship with meaningful animal rescue work, we would be especially happy to hear from you.

You can choose from various topics related to dogs – behavior, health, welfare, and everyday life.
