Your help counts – become a volunteer!
Do you want to help dogs in need? At Dog Rescue Auktsjaur, you can actively participate and become part of a dedicated team! We welcome any helping hand – whether it's in daily life with the dogs, in building the new facility, or in their care.
Particularly interesting for Swiss interns:
Your work placement with us is officially recognized as an internship for FBA animal care in Switzerland!
What you can do
We offer many different areas of responsibility – depending on your interests and skills:

Kennel Helper: Cleaning kennels, feeding, grooming

Dog Walker: Care and exercise of the dogs on the 3,000 m² grounds

Construction assistance: Support for the construction and maintenance of our new dog shelter
What you should bring
In order for us to work well together, you should:

be at least 18 years old

be able to communicate in German and English
-
be reliable and experienced with dogs (or willing to learn).
You will of course receive an introduction on site.

Accommodation & Arrival
For your stay, a comfortable guesthouse is at your disposal. It includes a large living and dining room with a fully equipped kitchen, a separate bedroom, a small bathroom, and a sofa bed for additional overnight accommodation.
If you prefer to arrive with your own camper, there is plenty of space for it on the property – we can discuss this in advance.
All meals and drinks (except alcohol) are included in the stay.
Travel is at your own expense – you book and pay for it yourself. We will agree on the exact travel dates together beforehand.

Destination airport: Arvidsjaur (ARJ)
You will be picked up personally – the animal shelter is about a 25-minute drive away.
Alternatively, arrival by ferry and train is also possible.
The minimum stay is 2 weeks.
Longer stays are expressly desired, as the onboarding process takes a few days and this makes your support more sustainable.
Accredited internship for FBA Animal Care (Switzerland)
The work placement at Dog Rescue Auktsjaur is officially recognized in Switzerland as an internship for the professional training in animal care (FBA).

There is a selection of topics related to dogs – from behavior and health to animal welfare and everyday issues.
Participation is conveniently possible online.
