Welcome to Dog Rescue Auktsjaur

Dog Rescue Auktsjaur is a non-profit foster care rescue organization located in the remote and beautiful Swedish Lapland, in Auktsjaur.

​

We deeply believe that every dog has a right to life, protection, and dignity. On our approximately 3-hectare property, we offer foster homes for dogs who would otherwise have no chance. In close cooperation with Swedish veterinarians, we take in dogs before euthanasia becomes the only option.

 

Furthermore, we also take in dogs seized by authorities, rescued from shelter closures, and rescued from other countries. Many of these dogs have experienced severe or traumatic events. With us, they find safety, peace, and the time they need to build trust and stabilize.

 

Our work is based on many years of experience, sound expertise, and professionally certified skills in handling dogs. Each dog is considered individually, professionally cared for, and accompanied with respect, clarity, and heart.

 

Even old, sick, or disabled dogs find a place with us. We give them care, structure, and – if possible – a new perspective. And if not, then at least a life in safety, dignity, and without further pressure.
