As a non-profit organization, Dog Rescue Auktsjaur relies on monetary and in-kind donations. Our work is only possible thanks to the support of people who share our values and want to give the dogs a real chance.

 

Every donation directly contributes to providing our dogs with safety, care, and a stable future.

 

Previous income:

Thanks to your incredible support, we have been able to raise CHF 20,000 for Dog Rescue Auktsjaur so far. These donations have been specifically used to build our infrastructure.

 

Specifically, we were able to fence in approximately 5,000 m² of land, purchase several insulated doghouses, and complete the existing dog house with two heated indoor rooms and the associated outdoor runs.

 

These investments form the basis for safe, species-appropriate and long-term accommodation of our dogs.

Current demand & outlook:

We currently care for twelve house dogs, four dogs in the doghouse, and four active dogs in the outdoor area. The ongoing costs for food, grooming, veterinary visits, and daily care are a constant part of our work.

 

A significant portion of our ongoing expenses relates to the healthcare of our dogs, which includes the often underestimated importance of dental care. Within just six weeks, nine dogs underwent comprehensive dental treatment at the veterinarian. In several cases, teeth had to be extracted to prevent pain, inflammation, and further damage.

 

These medical measures have so far been privately funded, as the available donations were insufficient. These treatments are also an integral part of responsible animal welfare work.

 

In addition, further medical procedures are necessary. Both of Lori's knees are affected. She suffers from patellar dislocation and requires two surgical interventions to be able to live pain-free in the long term.

 

In parallel, we are planning the further expansion of our facilities in order to be able to offer even more dogs a safe place in the future.
